Instructor:
All training is developed and delivered by Donald L. Schmidt, Chair of the NFPA 1600 technical committee and editor of the official NFPA 1600 handbook "Implementing NFPA 1600 National Preparedness Standard."


Cost: Free.
This course normally costs over $500/student. The Iowa All-Regions Homeland Security Board will cover student costs for this course. There are a limited number of seats available. Because of the demand and expenses, the All-Regions Board will assess a $100 cancellation fee to those that cancel after April 17th without a substitute representative or fail to attend any instructional sessions.

Based on the limited number of seats, the course sponsors reserve the right to allocate seats based on agency, organization and geographic representation. Course sponsor will contact all registrants the week of April 13th with their registration status.


About NFPA 1600:

The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (the 9/11 Commission), recognized NFPA 1600 as our National Preparedness Standard. Widely used by public, not-for-profit, nongovernmental, and private entities on a local, regional, national, international and global basis, NFPA 1600 has been adopted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a voluntary consensus standard for emergency preparedness. Provisions cover the development, implementation, assessment, and maintenance of programs for prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, continuity, and recovery.
