Webinar: Disability Integration & Coordination in Disasters

This training has been developed to support local, tribal, State and Federal governments to integrate children and adults with and without disabilities who have access and functional needs into every aspect of emergency response and recovery.  Children and adults with disabilities have the same right to services as others. Emergency managers and planners have the responsibility of planning to ensure that all emergency services and facilities are accessible. The decisions made in the planning process determine whether integration or segregation occurs throughout response and recovery.  The training will encompass the Whole Community including understanding and meeting the true needs of the entire community.  The training will be engaging all aspects of the community (public, private, and civic) in both defining those needs and devising ways to meet them.  The training will assist in strengthening the assets, institutions, and social processes that work well in communities on a daily basis to improve resilience and emergency management outcomes.

The intended audience for this training includes those individuals at the Federal Headquarters, Federal Regional, State/Local/Tribal, and Private Sector/Non-governmental organization (NGO) levels.
